Meet JuJu
Jawuan “JuJu” Booker was more than special he was a light in every room, a deep thinker with a gentle spirit, and a heart that naturally looked out for others. To know JuJu was to experience kindness, laughter, loyalty, and unconditional love.

Born on August 22, 2006, JuJu was curious from the very beginning. He loved computers, technology, cybersecurity, and figuring out how things worked especially when he could use that knowledge to help someone else. He had an incredible ability to make people feel seen, heard, and understood, even during times when he struggled to feel that way himself.

JuJu lived with autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation. He faced challenges that many people never saw, carrying battles within himself while continuing to show compassion and concern for others. He often gravitated toward those who were struggling because he understood their pain. Those who felt different, misunderstood, isolated, or overlooked often found comfort in JuJu's presence. He believed he could help them because he knew what it felt like to walk through darkness himself.

Above all else, JuJu was a son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was fiercely loyal to the people he loved and always willing to offer encouragement, advice, or simply a listening ear. He made people laugh, asked thoughtful questions, gave the best hugs, and showed up when it mattered most. He was wise beyond his years, unselfish, caring, and deeply compassionate.

Behind his smile, however, JuJu was fighting battles that became heavier than anyone realized.

On April 13, 2025, at just 18 years old, JuJu lost his life to suicide.

As his mother, there are no words to fully describe the pain of losing a child. The silence left behind is deafening. The dreams, conversations, milestones, and memories yet to be made were suddenly taken away. My world changed forever that day.

Yet even in his passing, JuJu's story did not end.
In one final act of selflessness and love, JuJu became an organ donor, giving the gift of life to others. Through his heart, lungs, and kidneys, a part of him continues to live on. Even in death, he was helping others just as he had done throughout his life.

The Forsythe Foundation – Reboot with JuJu was born from the deepest pain a mother can experience and the promise that her son's life would never be forgotten. This foundation exists to carry forward JuJu's light, love, and legacy by promoting mental health awareness, suicide prevention, organ donation education, and community healing.

We are here for those who feel unseen.
We are here for those who feel unheard.
We are here for those who are struggling in silence.
We are here to remind people that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

JuJu's life reminds us that we never truly know what someone is carrying. His story calls us to lead with compassion, listen without judgment, and love one another a little more deeply.

He mattered.
He still matters.
And through this foundation, his light continues to shine.
